The following sentences are based on the tenses you have learnt in unit 1.

Estaba nervioso porque no había besado a una chica antes.

• He was nervous because he hadn't kissed a girl before.

Me rompí la pierna cuando estaba esquiando.

• I broke my leg when I was skiing

¿Quieres que te ayude a hacer la cena?

• Shall I help you with the dinner/ to make the dinner?

Hoy voy al cine a las 5:00

• I'm going to the cinema at 5:00

Estaba leyendo cuando oí un grito en el piso de abajo.

• I was reading when I heard a scream downstairs.

Cuando me leventé mi pareja ya había hecho el desayuno.

• When I got up my partner had already made breakfast.

Estoy seguro de que te gustará.

• I'm sure you'll like it.

Nunca dice "no" a su hijo así que no es de extrañar (no wonder) que esté tan mimado.

• She never says "no" to her child so no wonder he's so spoilt.

• Stop being so bossy and telling me what I have to do.

Es muy celosa y se enfada cuando Pat habla con otras mujeres.

• Sh'e so jealous and she gets angry when Pat talks to other women.

Es un tacaño. Nunca te invita a una copa.

• He's so mean. He never pays/buys you a drink.

Mi hermana es muy callada en clase pero muy habladora en casa.

• My sister is very quiet in class but she's very talkative at home.

Puedes confiar en él. Es una persona fiable (de la que te puedes fiar)

• You can trust him. He's a reliable person.
